Class Descriptions

Jiu-Jitsu No Gi

Traditionally Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Sambo are practiced with a heavy, jacketed uniform called a Gi. This class, however, is focused on grappling techniques specific to the “no gi” environment, and the only required uniform is shorts and a t-shirt or rashguard.

 

Besides fundamental movements, principles, and self defense, we will also discuss competitive strategies for the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) Submission Grappling rules, and similar rule sets.

Jiu-Jitsu No Gi (Fundamentals)

The Fundamental Jiu-Jitsu No Gi class is designed for students with 0-18 months experience training Jiu-Jitsu, or anyone who wants to refine fundamental techniques. Students will learn effective fundamental self-defense techniques, takedowns, and positional strategy. No experience is required for this class. No Gi classes do not require a Gi uniform. Wear workout leggings and/or shorts with rash guard or athletic shirt. No uniform required for beginners. Classes begin with warm up using jiu-jitsu relevant drills. We then go over 1-4 techniques taught and drilled with the beginner practitioner in mind.

Jiu-Jitsu Gi

The Adults Jiu-Jitsu GI class includes drilling techniques and practical self-defense. Classes consist of Jiu-Jitsu Warm Up. Classes begin with warm up using jiu-jitsu relevant drills and Techniques and Drilling. We then go over 1-4 techniques taught with both the beginner and advanced practitioner in mind.

Jiu-Jitsu Gi (Fundamentals)

The fundamentals class is perfect for beginners who want to learn the basic positions, movements, and principles of effective jiu-jitsu. No experience is required for this class. A shirt and elastic waist shorts/pants or a Gi are required. Classes consist of Jiu-Jitsu Warm Up: Classes begin with warm up using jiu-jitsu relevant drills. Techniques and Drilling: We then go over 1-4 techniques taught and drilled with the beginner practitioner in mind.

Kickboxing

Our kickboxing program ranges from beginner cardio classes with no experience required to advanced classes focused on more intricate  striking combinations.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai is a type of kickboxing from Thailand that has a specific rule set allowing striking with hands, feet, knees and elbows. It also allows stand up clench work.

Boxing

Focus on head movement, punches, footwork, and fitness in a range of classes from beginner (no experience required) to advanced for those wishing to compete.

MMA

MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts and has evolved into a sport with its very own style and rule set. Typically, it blends striking, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu.

Kids Jiu-Jitsu

Increase your child’s coordination, confidence, and self-defense skills in a non-violent manner as they learn skills and train across multiple martial arts.

Kids Karate
